Lighthouse Beacon

The lighthouse beacon in the harbor was once located at Rosøygalten and is therefore named the Rosøygalten Beacon.
The beacon’s position was 65.51.6N 12.21.7E on Map # 56. (Just next to where the German prisoner transport ship "Rigel" was sunk.)
The beacon was constructed in 1887 and moved in 1895.  It was modified in 1913 and got stronger lights in 1964.
In 1994, it was replaced by a new and modern beacon and was then given to the Nesna Boat Club.  Repairs were started on the beacon, but left uncompleted.
It was relocated to the parking lot by the waterslide in Nesna and in 2006 it was finally fully repaired and placed at its current location.
“Frognerkilens fabric” (factory) is engraved on the ore plates  that the beacon is made of and it is assumed this is where it was originally constructed.

Fish Cleaning Station

The fish cleaning station is perhaps the harbor’s most social place.
This is where people meet to clean their catch, tell fish stories and perhaps stretch the truth a bit about the big ones that got away.
Fishing is a treasured hobby and a welcome addition to the table so we have made this a place that everyone can benefit from.
We are pleased to be able to make the cleaning table available for use by guests at Nesna Camping and to have the opportunity to connect with fisherman from other parts of Norway and the world.
We encourage all users to keep the station as clean and tidy as possible.

Recycling Shed

We have our own recycling shed for environmentally dangerous material, with removal by a company that is able to manage the proper disposal of waste material.
Members can dispose of waste such as oil, filters, batteries and plastics - common items that often need to be replaced on a boat.
The recycling shed is left open and we have to admit that it has been difficult to keep everything in order.
We kindly request that users follow the clearly posted rules regarding waste disposal. Oil should be emptied in the tank and filters and plastics must be placed in the barrels. In the past, we have found plastic bottles full of oil that should have been emptied before being placed in the barrels.  This can be messy, cause leakages and create a lot of unnecessary additional work.
Users must be more attentive or this will result in the shed’s closing, something we hope to avoid.

Boathouse

The Nesna Boat Club has 2 large boathouses, one of which is rented out to Nesna University College.
We try to store as much equipment as possible here so that the surrounding area remains tidy.
An agreement has been reached with the Diving Club such that they can store their equipment here in exchange for their help if needed.
Members can also store equipment here. This must be approved first and stored material must be clearly labeled with the member’s name and telephone number.  Material is stored at one’s own risk.
